Important map of Northwest Africa compiled by Friedrich von Stülpnagel (1786-1865). Detailed engraving with stippling for desert, and pictorial hachures for topography. The map presents a fascinating snapshot of European knowledge (or the lack thereof) of the region just before the midpoint of the 19th century. Colored outlines of European holdings depicted, with accompanying key located in lower left. Single-paged, single-sided, horizontal map. Manuscript number located in upper right margin.
