Description

The Red River Shootout game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas is being held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The rivalry began in 1900 and has been running since. The 1941 contest is all Longhorns early as the Sooners struggle to ignite their offense. A pile of Sooners are shown near the first down marker as the big linemen tried to help push their teammate to a conversion. The Sooners in the pile are numbers 44, 65, and 70 with 45 arriving late. There is a Longhorn at the bottom of the pile, who made the tackle. Number 70 for the Longhorns lost his helmet during the action. The Longhorns went on to win the game 40-7.
