Description

The Red River Shootout game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas is being held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The rivalry began in 1900 and has been running since. The 1941 Shootout is all Longhorns. Their offense is running smoothly and they even brought out a trick play. Jack Crain, 44 for Texas, took the ball from teammate Henry Harkins, 30, on the "Statue of Liberty" play. Crain ran through the Sooners for twenty-five yards and a first down. The Longhorns went on to win the game 40-7. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 15, 1941.
