    Description

    The Red River Shootout game between the University of Oklahoma and the University of Texas is being held at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas, Texas. The rivalry began in 1900 and has been running since. The Longhorns' second touchdown came off a 74-yard drive in the first quarter. Pictured is one of the first down plays that kept the drive alive. Longhorn fullback Pete Layden (31), faked to teammate Jack Crain (44), and is charging over the middle of the Sooner line for three yards to move the chains. Sooner Roger Eason is making the tackle. The Longhorns won the game 40-7. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, October 13, 1941.
