Description

The final round of the Golden Gloves state tournament is being held at Will Rogers Memorial Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas. Competing for the heavyweight title, from left to right are Shelby Buck and Aubrey Poole. Buck is representing Austin, Texas while Poole is representing Houston, Texas. Buck is shown throwing a left jab as Poole moves his head just enough to slip away from the blow. The thrilling fight lasted three rounds and Poole went on to win the decision. His victory over the University of Texas football player was one of the biggest surprises in the tournament. Poole will move on to represent Texas in the Tournament of Champions in Chicago, Illinois.
