    Description

    The 1941 college football season is opening at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The Texas Wesleyan Rams are hosting the visiting Hardin-Simmons Cowboys. Some 300 West Texas rooters are invading Fort Worth. Attending the game, left to right, are Ed Stewart, Mrs. Stewart, Reverend Philip McGahey and Mrs. McGahey. Mr. Stewart is president of the Abilene Chamber of Commerce. He is dressed in a single-breasted suit, a light shirt, and a tie that matches the suit, a leather belt with a watch chain and fob, a tie tack, and a booster pin in his lapel. He is holding a lit cigar. Mrs. Stewart is wearing a shaped felt hat and a sailor style dress, is holding dark leather gloves and a handbag. Reverend and Mrs. McGahey are from Breckenridge, Texas where he is a Baptist pastor. Reverend McGahey is dressed in a suit with a light shirt and a diagonal design tie, a tie chain, and rimless glasses.. Mrs. McGahey is wearing a hat with netting over the top, a light collared blouse, a wool blazer embellished with brocade, holding a pair of eyeglasses, a pair of gloves, a handbag, and is wearing a wedding ring and an enamel flower brooch.
