Description
The 1941 college football season is opening at Farrington Field in Fort Worth, Texas. The Texas Wesleyan Rams are hosting the visiting Hardin-Simmons Cowboys. Attending the game, left to right, are Marion B. McClure, Mrs. Gus Miller, and Sheriff Will Watson. Mr. McClure is the director of the Hardin-Simmons band. He is dressed in a cowboy hat, wireless eyeglasses, button-up shirt, bandanna, an embossed leather belt and trousers with pockets that snap or button. Mrs. Miller is the wife of T. W. C. coach Gus Miller. She is wearing a felt shaped hat, Peter Pan collared blouse under a fitted brocade zip-front jacket and a stylized peacock broach at her neckline, and a skirt. She is holding a pair of black gloves and carrying a black handbag and wearing rimless eyeglasses. Sheriff Watson is the sheriff of Abilene, Texas. He is wearing a ten gallon hat, a button-up shirt embroidered with his name, a badge, a pendant, trousers, an embossed leather belt with silver fittings and an embossed leather gun holster at his hip. The pistol has a pearl handle with an inset star.
