Description

To raise the $3,553,000,000 defense revenue contemplated in the tax bill passed by the Congress and sent to the President for signature, many commodities small and big will be looked at closely. Tax on liquors will be up to $4.00 a gallon from the present $3.00. Sidney Rubenstein of the Shamrock Package Store, is seen checking over liquor stock that will assume new tax value. The store shelves are filled with bottles of liquor. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 18, 1941.
