Description

The city of Fort Worth had its annual picnic for the 200 policemen and their families gathered at Camp Swift, Lake Worth. They enjoyed 800 pounds of barbecue and 150 cases of soft drinks, 4,000 pounds of ice and every intention of having a big time. The picnic started at 9 am. and continued until midnight so officers of all three shifts could attend. Motorcycle officer D. H. Johnston and family pose by the swing. Mrs. D. H. Johnston is sitting on a swing with her 2 year old son, Dwight Wayne, on her lap while Officer Johnston stands behind them. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, September 4, 1941.
