Description
Students at Texas Christian University assembled in their western gear for the dress rehearsal of the school's first annual Ranch Festival, Friday and Saturday, February 1-2. Ranch life isn't a novelty to the five girls pictured. The are the daughters of West, Texas ranchers. Left to right they are, Gerry Browder of Fort Worth, whose father operates the Diamond Tail Ranch near Memphis, Texas; Miss Nell Davis of Sterling City; Miss Virginia Hargrove of Talco; Miss Adale Reiger of Midland, and Miss Sallye Barnard of Talco. The girls are standing on a ledge, dressed in western shirts, skirts, and cowboy boots. They are waving their cowboy hats in the air as Nell, Virginia, and Sallye fire their pistols into the air. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, January 31, 1940.
