Description

Baseball player Debs Garms is spending the off-season on his 276-acre farm with his family. He is sitting on the edge of a well with his two year-old son Davey. Davey is looking on as his father examines the group of baseball bats he'll use during the 1941 season. Garms is a left-handed hitting third basemen. He spent four seasons with the St. Louis Browns, three seasons with the Boston Bees, and the 1940 season with the Pittsburgh Pirates. With the Pirates, Garms hit for a.355 average and won a batting title. He is dressed in a cowboy hat, plaid shirt, leather jacket, trousers, and cowboy boots. Davey is chewing on his father's pipe. He is wearing a knit cap, coat, and trousers.
