Tarrant County said goodbye to its first contingent of 56 trainees in ceremonies held at Main and Fifth Streets. General J. Watt Page of Austin, Texas, adjutant general and director of the Selective Service System for Texas is shown at the microphone, bringing greetings from the department and Governor O'Daniel. Seated on the stage behind him are, left to right, Thomas Fletcher, Brown Harwood and Mark McGee. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, November 20, 1940.
