Description
Col. Bertrand Davis, a John Tarlton College alumnus started his adventures in 1926 to explore Central and South American jungles with his 11-year-old son, Allen Lake Davis and a dog. The military title was bestowed upon him by General Sandino, the revolutionary leader in Nicaragua. He recently shared his tales with mesmerized Masonic Home students. Col. Bertrand's uncle is C. C. Davis, city secretary of Stephenville. In this photograph Col. Bertrand Davis is holding and examining a machete. He has a full beard and is wearing a suit and tie. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram Evening edition, November 15, 1940.
