Description
Colonel who was here 22 years ago pays visit to old friends. Here for a visit Thursday was a man who helped execute the World War draft, arranged for Canadian fliers to train at Fort Worth in 1917-18 and was commanding officer in three flying fields here for nine of the war months. He is Colonel David L. Roscoe, 66 year-old retired army officer who made so many friends in Fort Worth 22 years ago that he has a watch inscribed with the whole town's affection. His visit this time is purely social and sentimental for he retired from the army in 1920. The colonel is shown smiling, dressed in a suit and holding a pipe in his hand. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Morning Edition November 01, 1940.
