Description
Texas' city tax assessors and collectors highlighted the sectional gatherings preceding the twenty-eighth convention of the League of Texas Municipalities at Hotel Texas. Left to right, City Attorney R. H. Ratliff of Colorado City, and Electra's city secretary E. W. Presson, Electra, Texas. City Attorney R. H. Ratliff is who told the finance officers about "Protection of Deposits and Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation Coverage". He is also a member of the town's band. Electra's city secretary E. W. Presson is the fellow who once was responsible for all those swell Electra High School track teams. Before turning to municipal duties three years ago, Presson coached the Tigers a number of years, winning district honors every year but one and putting so many boys in the state finals Electra won recognition as North Texas' outstanding cinder path school. Both men are wearing suits and standing next to each other. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, November 7, 1940.
