Description

Tarrant County, Texas is conducting their peace time registration for the draft. Three generations of one family are proving their willingness to do their bit for their country during peacetime or in war. A. S. Whitley Junior, twenty-seven, is shown sitting and registering for the draft. Taking the registration is his mother, Mrs. A. S. Whitley Senior. At young Whitley's side is his father. A. S. Whitley Senior and his grandmother, Mrs. M. E. McCorstin. A. S. Junior is the first in his precinct to register. He is dressed in a pinstripe suit. Mrs. Whitley is the chief registrar in Precinct 107. She is dressed in a blouse, brooch, and skirt. Mr. Whitley signed up for Uncle Sam in World War I, twenty-three years earlier. He is dressed in a suit. Mrs. McCorstin, seventy-seven, is a proud witness of the proceedings. Three of her sons fought in World War I. She is wearing a blouse with lace down the front, blazer, and a skirt. There is a long bookcase and a crowd of people in the background.
