Description

When Mr. and Mrs. Mans Hoggett of Mertzon started to gather rocks from their ranch property to build a home, friends in all parts of the country wanted to contribute to the collection. Soon huge rocks started rolling in. Today, a beautifully constructed home is the result. The home, located in Mertzon, is a long structure that has a screened-in porch, living room, dining room, three bedrooms, kitchen, den and two baths—and all conveniences found in the city home. The den is of knotty pine. It has a built-in desk where cattle records are kept and pictures of the show-winning animals adorn the walls. Hoggett is shown at this desk wearing a suit. A small heater is on the floor, to the right of the desk. A floral rug on the floor. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram Sunday Edition May 11, 1941.
