Description
Thousands of civilians flocked to Camp Bowie and Camp Wolters to catch a glimpse of what the country is doing in way of national defense. Marching troops, social life, and field maneuvers made it a full day for the men in uniform and the visitors. Pictured at Camp Bowie in Brownwood, Texas are the members of Company F, 111th Engineers and Company C, an assault unit. Company F is building a pontoon bridge. The men from Company C are in the boats. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, April 8, 1941.
