Description
The West Texas Fair is being held in Abilene, Texas. A parade is opening Children's Day, the second day of festivities. The parade is one of the largest and most colorful in the history of Abilene. Surviving the ravages of time and traveling down the parade street, is the early day stage coach of Albany Fandangle. The coach is being pulled by four horses. A group of people are sitting on top the coach. A man is riding shotgun and carrying a shotgun. Other cowboys on horses follow the stagecoach. Spectators line both sides of the street while others view the parade from the buildings. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 10, 1940.
