The West Texas Fair is being held in Abilene, Texas. Opening the second day of the fair, Children's Day, is a parade. The parade is one of the largest and most colorful in the history of Abilene. The "Lady Liberty" float is shown traveling down the crowded streets. The Business and Professional Women's club built the float, which took home third prize. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 10, 1940.
