Some of Fine Palomino Entries in West Texas Fair at Abilene -- The Palomino show Monday was a feature of the West Texas Fair at Abilene. Consuela, one of the fine specimens of this beautiful strain is shown here. She is a six-year-old mare sold by Joe L. Hallonquest of Abilene to P. K. Fisher of Suderton, Pennsylvania (Pa.), and ridden by Mrs. L. F. Johnson of Abilene. Mrs. Johnson is wearing a collared blouse, plaid coat, and trousers. Consuela has a fancy studded saddle with a matching bridle. A man is standing at the right, dressed in a hat and a suit. Background showing barn, shed, and truck. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 9, 1940.
