Some of Fine Palomino Entries in West Texas Fair at Abilene -- The Palomino show Monday was a feature of the West Texas Fair at Abilene. Pleasant King, one of the fine specimens of this beautiful strain is shown here. Pleasant, owned by Hal and Charlie Peterson of Kerrville, first prize winner in the heavy stallion class. A man is holding Pleasant King's lead rope. He is wearing a hat, button-up shirt, and trousers. A crowd of people and horses are standing in the background. Published in The Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 9, 1940.
