Description
Friends from of upwards of 150 miles thronged to Throckmorton's twelfth annual County Fair and Rodeo. Nearly the entire ranch population of the county is out on the street for the opening day parade. Like any West Texas town, good horses are mounted by cowboys and cowgirls. The street is crowded with spectators and parked automobiles. Several of the stores have Dr. Pepper signs on the marquee. There is a coffee shop, café, shoe store, and a variety store.
