Description
The Fort Worth Cats battled the Tulsa Oilers in game one of the playoffs at LaGrave Field. An alert play by the Cats kept Tulsa's leading hitter off the bases in the third inning. Henry Schenz, of Tulsa, put a sacrifice bunt down the first base line. Cats' first baseman Lou Ruchser (in background) fielded the bunt and threw to second baseman Monty Basgall, number 7, who was covering the bag. Schenz attempted to beat the throw by sliding feet first into the bag. Cats' pitcher John Van Cuyk rushed over to cover (left).
