Description

The Tarrant County Democratic Convention is holding a meeting at the First Baptist Church. In attendance, left to right are Claude Spratling, Nenetta Burton Carter, George W. Parker Junior (Jr.) and C. W. Porter. The convention is meeting to elect a new chairman. In the running are Stewart Hellman and Ross Hardin. Mr. Porter is shown raising his hand in protest to casting the Prescient 87, North Side vote for Hellman. Despite the objection, Mr. Porter was overruled. Mr. Spratling is dressed in a collared shirt, necktie, suspenders, and trousers. Mrs. Carter is wearing a hat and a collared dress. Mr. Parker is wearing a dress shirt, necktie, and trousers. Mr. Porter is dressed in a button-up shirt and trousers. There are several people in the room. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 4, 1946.
