Description
Shown are the last two bends of the Brazos above the dam taken from a jutting point high above the present banks of the winding river, which is to become a vast lake with a shore line of 310 miles. The Civilian Conservation Corps is to begin work in early 1941. Nearly 7,000 acres of Brazos Valley land has been deeded to Texas for the newest park, Possum Kingdom State Park, near Breckenridge. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, October 13, 1940.
