Description
Colonel M. Norten Hardesty, chief of military missions to Bolivia for three years, Thursday was appointed managing director of Texas Pan-American Association at the Chamber of Commerce. Hardesty, a native of Springfield, Missouri, is on terminal leave after serving 12 years in the field artillery. Prior to three years spent in Bolivia, Hardesty served with the Civil Conservation Corps as a company commander, commander and inspector, and as an instructor in artillery in the Quartermaster Corps. He has been awarded the Condor of the Andes, a Bolivian government decoration; The Order of Military Merit of the Bolivian Army; the Diploma and Star as Military Professor of the Bolivian General Staff, and the United States Legion of Merit, which will be awarded in Dallas, Texas at a later date. Mr. Hardesty is seated behind a desk. He's resting his hands on a stack of papers on the desk. A telephone and ashtray are on the desk. There is a coat rack and a bookcase behind Mr. Hardesty.
