Veteran ready to resume studies. After serving 31 months in the Navy, R.B. Ryder, son of Mrs. and Mrs. C.C. Ryder, received his discharge recently and is ready to resume his engineer course at Texas A&M. While in the Navy, Ryder, a shipfitter second class at the time of his discharge served overseas with a Seabees outfit that built airstrips, hospitals, roads and docks in Hawaii, the Marshalls, and the Philippines. His unit was with the first Army and Marine troops to land on Majuro in the Marshalls. His father served in the Navy during World War I and was also stationed in the Philippines. Photograph of R. B.
