Description
The rooming house at 1019 Lamar was nearly destroyed by a fire. Kenneth C. Porter lowered his wife to safety from an upstairs room when the fire broke out. Mr. Porter subsequently fell and broke his leg. The house is owned by Mrs. Ada Huckabee. In this picture is a portrait of Mrs. Ada Huckabee. She is standing in a bedroom. There is a telephone on the table by the bed and a clock on the nightstand. Mrs. Huckabee is wearing a housecoat. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, January 8, 1945.
