Ensign W. A. "Mickey" Schmid Junior is home after 26 months in the Atlantic aboard a sub chaser. The Fort Worth, Texas, native is spending his 20-day leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Schmid. Mickey is a graduate of Arlington Heights High School and a former student at the University of Michigan and the University of Texas. He is shown standing against a wall, dressed in his military uniform.
