Description
Some of the people who were seeking United States citizenship before Federal Judge Atwell in Fort Worth, Texas. Left to right, they are Bridget Florence Deneny (Sister John Edward of Saint Joseph's Hospital), Gordon Kaiser and Leroy Thompson, all formerly British subjects. They are holding miniature United States flags after taking the oath of allegiance to their new country. Sister John Edward is dressed in nun attire and eyeglasses. Mr. Kaiser is wearing a suit, striped necktie and eyeglasses. Mr. Thompson is wearing a pinstripe suit and striped necktie. Standing behind them, between Sister John Edward and Mr. Kaiser, is an unidentified man, and another man is standing behind Mr. Thompson at the far right.
