Description
Some of the people who were seeking United States citizenship before Federal Judge Atwell, seated, center, in Fort Worth, Texas. Standing directly behind the judge is Miss Mary Charlotte Faris, retiring junior president of Captain William Scott Society of the Children of the American Revolution, who portrayed "the spirit of liberty," and behind her, left to right, M. A. Legros, chief machinist's mate in the United States Navy, Sergeant R. L. Malone of the Marine Corps, and Sergeant J. H. Cook of the United States Army. Miss Faris is dressed as Lady Liberty and the officers are wearing their military uniforms. In the background are American flags and an American Legion flag. In the foreground, sitting in front of the judge's bench, is an unidentified man who is wearing a suit and eyeglasses.
