C. D. Peckenpaugh is the vice president and general manager of the Fort Worth and Denver City Railway Company. The veteran railroader is shown taking a turn at a telegraph key. It was on this type of machine that he broke into the industry 55 years ago. Mr. Peckenpaugh's current job includes sorting through correspondence. He will reach the retirement age of 70 in three years. Mr. Peckenpaugh is wearing a dress shirt, necktie, and trousers.
