Description

Three of the 23 candidates who will compete for selection as queen of Grapevine, Texas', sixth annual Cantaloupe Festival on June 28. The contestants are, left to right, Marybelle Strain, Delores Oxford, and Alyce Brophy. They are standing outside. Miss Strain is wearing a light colored dress and a chain necklace with large spherical pendants. She has a bow in her hair. Miss Oxford is wearing a dress with buttons down the bodice and a chevron print trim along the neckline and on the sleeves. She is wearing a necklace with a heart shaped pendant. Miss Brophy is wearing a dark colored dress with light polka dots and light buttons down the bodice, belted at the waist. The contest will be held at Firemen's Park and newspaper reporters will be the judges.
