Description
The body of Corporal (Corp.) James E. Newman, a Japanese prison camp victim, lies in state in the First Baptist Church, flanked by an honor guard of staff sergeants from the Fort Worth Army Air Field. From noon until 3 p.m., when the services began, an unending line of people passed before the casket to view the body of Corporal Newman. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, August 7, 1945.
