Description
Neighbors in the 3900 block of W 4th didn't like the looks of the weed and green "jungle" on the vacant lot between their homes, so they did something about it. This croquet court and putting course resulted. Left to right, Eli C. Henley and his daughter, Ellengene Henley, Mrs. Lastro Warren and Mr. Warren. The well groomed lot, which also provides a useful playground is a shining example of what can be done in Fort Worth's citywide cleanup campaign. Mr. Henley is demonstrating a crouquet game while Mr. Warrent is putting. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 31, 1945.
