Description

"The Roving Ramblers", a neighborhood club of Polytechnic boys ranging from 8 to 11 years of age, are clearing weeds from this vacant lot, which is owned by a man in service. They've used it for club activities and are clearing weeds in line with City cleanup campaign. They have mowers, hoes, rakes and a wheelbarrow. They are, left to right, Robert Parrish, Billy Mooneyham, Don Jordan, Marvin Justice, Raymond Phillips, Melvin Henderson and Eugene Parrish, All live in 3600 block of Avenue J. The lot is owned by Private Thomas Henderson who is training at Texas A&M College and is next door to the home of his parents, Mrs and Mrs. H. W. Henderson, 2609 Avenue J.
