A. M. Pate Senior, has been elected to succeed the late Carl Wollner as president of Panther Oil and Grease Manufacturing Company. The announcement came after a meeting of E. H. Beall, A. B. Canning, Carl Shanks, and Pate, directors, who elected the president. Pate, a Fort Worth resident for the past 23 years, is one of the organizers of the company and has assisted in its management since its inception. He is a native of Tennessee, he moved to Dallas in 1916 and soon after went into service in World War I. For several years after the war, he and Wollner were associated with the old Oriental Oil Company of Dallas. In 1922, Pate and Wollner moved to Fort Worth and formed the Panther Oil & Grease Company. Pate is a member of the Business and Professional Men's Post of the American Legion and of the Fort Worth Sales Executives Club. In this picture he is wearing suit with tie and glasses. He is sitting by a desk and there are many pictures and some documents on the desk. Published in Fort Worth Star-Telegram, evening edition, July 19, 1945.
