Description
Fred Walter Redman, Machinist Mate Third Class, son of S. O. Redman, served aboard the Cetus, one of the few remaining Navy cargo ships which started as a group in 1943. During his stay in the Pacific of two years, four months and 13 days, Redman saw 76,000 miles of ocean slide past him, aided in the transporting of tons of supplies, and saw the battle for Okinawa from a Navy landing barge, shutting ammunition from ship to shore. He is standing against a wall, wearing his uniform.
