Description
Expect heavy travel during Fourth of July celebrations. Shown are passengers, men, women and their children, waiting to board the already crowded train west to El Paso. Brakeman H. F. Folowell, standing on coach steps, said that travel all day during the Fourth had been unusually heavy. And, according to Stationmaster C. L. Oster, Texas & Pacific (T&P) Station, even the government sent an unusually large number of military personnel over the rails over the holiday. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 5, 1945.
