Description
Swimming is a common activity for Fourth of July celebrations. The swimming pool at Forest Park was not the most unpopular place over the Fourth. Attendants said that people flocked to the pool from morning to night throughout the sultry day. Many who did not go into the water sat around the edge of the pool to benefit from the cool atmosphere near the water. In the foreground can be seen a child, getting his first swimming lesson from his father. There are kids diving off the diving board in the middle of the pool. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 5, 1945.
