Description
First Lieutenant (1st Lt.) Francis Hill is pictured here. He is shown standing, facing front and smiling for the camera. He is dressed in uniform. He fought in France, Germany and Belgium. He has been in the Army four years. An infantryman with the 3rd Army, he was overseas 10 months. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John W. Hill. He is a graduate of Arlington High School and North Texas Agricultural College (NTAC). He is also, a graduate of Texas Wesleyan College (TWC). Lieutenant (Lt.) Hill met his bride, the former Miss Louis A. Milne, daughter of Mrs. Marie S. Paxton, on the hospital ship that brought him back from Germany. He sang on programs staged for the other wounded men on the ship and his future bride, an accomplished pianist, played his accompaniment. The couple were married at Charleston, South Carolina. Lieutenant (Lt.) Hill is currently on leave and back home here in Arlington. His bride Mrs. Louis A. Hill, a Red Cross worker is in Europe. After this last trip she will join him. He will report to Brooke General Hospital in San Antonio at the end of his 60-day leave. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, June 30, 1945.
