Description
After 26 months as an Army nurse in the Southwest Pacific and the Philippines, First Lieutenant Emma Costlow returned to the States as a patient. The topical skin infection has been treated and she is spending a 30-day leave visiting her sister Mrs. W. F. Snelson, and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Costlow. Lieutenant Costlow was a surgical nurse with the 84th Station Hospital. Lieutenant Costlow and her roommate from the City-County School of Nursing, Lieutenant Mary Mayes, enlisted together immediately after their graduation in 1942. Costlow is engage to Captain Edward Gorenflo , a bomber pilot, who she met in the first night she arrived in Australia. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram evening edition, July 31, 1945.
