Description
The Texas Sectional Tennis Tournament, which will close out a seven-day stand at Colonial Country Club, is being rated as the best state tournament ever held in Texas. There are three sets of twins taking part in the tournament. The most outstanding, in point of results, were the Gerhardt brothers of Austin. The two brothers, Bernard, left, and Stanley, are pictured here. They are shown seated on the grass and posing for the camera. Both are wearing tennis shoes. Bernard is wearing a short and T-shirt, and Stanley is wearing a trouser and a jacket. Both brothers went to the finals in junior boys' doubles, and Bernard went to the finals in junior boys' singles. The twins are 16-year old. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, July 1, 1945.
