Over 300 Texas soldiers of the famed 86th 'Black Hawk' Division were excited to hit the soil of their home state when their special troop train paused recently at Texas and Pacific Station (T&P Station), Fort Worth, Texas, en route from Camp Kilmer, New Jersey, to Fort Sam Houston. Sergeant (Sgt.) Claude D. Fenley is pictured here. He is shown dressed in uniform, standing on the rail lines, smiling and posing for the camera. Behind him is the train stopped at the station. He will head for Gainesville where he will see his wife and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Fenley. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, morning edition, June 22, 1945.
