Description
Marking his third birthday, Edward J. Bjork, bought a $100.00 Series E war bond from Mrs. G. C. Oxford, war bond booth clerk, at First National Bank. The bond was purchased with coins saved by the boy and a $50 bill sent by his sailor dad, Edward J. Bjork, fireman second class. The boy's father is aboard the USS Kenton somewhere in the vicinity of Okinawa. While Bjork is away his son is making his home with his grandmother, Mrs. A.C. Bjork. The young boy is shown sitting on the counter at the bank while he looks down on a pile of coins and paper money. The female clerk is holding a $100.00 war bond.
