    Description

Family and friends are gathering to help Graham, Texas, resident R. S. Hilburn celebrate his 100th Birthday. Sitting on a couch, left to right, are N. C. Hilburn, R. S. Hilburn, and Mrs. T. E. Matthews. R. S. Hilburn, "Uncle Bob," as he is known to most, still finds the world a mighty interesting place as he enters his second century, determined not to miss out on any news. His eyesight is too poor to read the newspaper, so Mr. Hilburn spends hours each day at his radio. He is wearing a dress shirt, bow tie, and trousers. N. C. Hilburn, of Dallas, Texas, is dressed in a button-up shirt, necktie, and trousers. Mrs. T. E. Matthews, also of Graham, Texas, is wearing a blazer accented with stripes and a striped skirt.
