Description
A giant freight van loaded with groceries crashed deep into the Draper Grocery when it failed to make a turn at Hemphill and Kellis. Plate glass fragments and broken bricks cover the street in front of Draper's Grocery. There are spectators on the sidewalk. It has a hexagonal tile roof popular then and a canvas awning running the length of the store front. Single axle freight truck. Clipping: "BLUE POINT BLUESâ€â€A giant freight van, loaded with groceries, smashed deep into the Draper Grocery, 4351 Hemphill, late Thursday, amid a shower of plate glass fragments and canned goods. The driver of the truck, Richard Jimmie Daniel of Denton, and two youths working in the store, Bobbie Draper and La Moyne Ray, escaped injury. The truck failed to make a turn at Hemphill and Kellis.
