Portrait of Gene Krupa, who arrived in Fort Worth by Army transport plane from Oklahoma City to play a four-hour jam session on the Casino's bandstand. He and his band members arrived by Army transport plane from Oklahoma City, where they played for service men at Will Rogers Memorial Field. Krupa comes from Chicago and first won national fame as drummer with Benny Goodman's band. He likes playing for the "kids" and will keep drumming as long as they ask for it. He is wearing a suit and sitting on a sofa. Published in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram morning edition, April 7, 1945.
