Boxers throughout the city are training for the upcoming Golden Gloves District Tournament in Fort Worth, Texas. Sitting on a chair, tying his boxing shoes is Denzil Allcock. He was the 1944 Fort Worth District middleweight champion. He is preparing for a workout at the Golden Gloves gym. He plans to enter the open division as a welterweight this year. He is dressed in a collared shirt, jacket, and striped trousers. His street shoes, helmet, boxing clothes, and duffle bag are on the floor in front of him. The photograph was published in the January 8, 1945 morning edition of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.
